Asked the missus if i could do something to help while she was doing some gardening today. She said "I'll be right thanks, you just go and count your silver things."
Just goes to show how much they value your business that puts the roast on the table... :))

Asked Tan if I could order an oak barrel and of course she said no.
That's what I get for asking.
She must have felt guilty because she went out and bought me a sweater and shirts and stuff I really didn't need :))
@Lloyd get you some sleeping pills, it worked for the boiler and fermenter! =)) =)) =))
Better to ask for Forgiveness then Permission... LOL
@punkin - I get almost the same....But -> "Are you going to code on that thing "all" night?" :)
@Lloyd - I always get new underwear... Told her I wanted Duluth Trading underwear.. I was told Wal Mart is good enough for what transgressions I commit in them... wtf?
Cheers!

The only sillae question is the one you don't ask folks...
It's the thought that you at least asked her @Punkin.
and @Lloyd, transfer the money to either @Punkin or @Smaug, and have them order the barrel for you as a present.
@Philter is da man!!
@philter That is exactly how I got my first still. Good friends that are single and I also play let's make a deal with her.

Went out for a nice dinner and split a pint of Apple Pie with the missus, THEN asked her if I could get 50 pounds of sugar. I should have asked for another torpedo section, but live and learn. :)
I've found forgiveness easier to seek than permission.
As in "i'm going to look at a bike i'm going to buy, want to come?"
We haven't discussed this she says
What's to discuss?
Well is it practical?
"can i do the shopping on it? " i say "No."
Is it a chopper? she says.
Yes.
Oh.

I know the feeling @punkin wanting to get an electric golf cart, all supped up and lifted six inches.. my motive, killer hunting vehicle, how to get it,?? tell her she can ride around in the yard and take out the trash bins to the curb onc a week... It worked!!!! :D
Mine is letting me sell the house we live in and move to the condo she had since before we were married 8 months ago... and use the proceeds from the sale to do build-out in the building for the distillery, and buy some more silver things like a 380L steam boiler ;-) she's a keeper!
@CothermanDistilling "she's a keeper" that's for sure!
I think I'm falling in love. She allowed you to have a 380L steam boiler for your distillery buildout? She owns a condo? Does she have a sister??? (combing my hair and putting on my best smile).
I got the last single one, sorry!
@CothermanDistilling looking forward to beer tasting, some Gyros, and hopefully soon a tour of your place sometime next year. Keep us posted of the progress. :-bd
Awesome!
Just got word the insurance company is going to pay out $13.5k for a few minor hail dints on my tin roof.
Garage roof was existing crap tin that leaks and will need renewal, but the rest is all new tin that i've put on since i've been here and won't need replacing.
Win.

469 buildings were demolished with little or no compensation to the owners. It takes 30000l of paint per coat to paint it. Paul Hogan was a bridge painter. The tolls paid for the bridge by 1988 which cost au£6.25mil. 16 people died, 2 from falling. They call it the coathanger! Pfft as if there is a coat big enough.
