  • If Mary, James, Peter, Richard, David and John are all in separate vehicles, travelling at a constant speed of 60mph, in a forward direction with no obstacles, at which point is Mary likely to stamp on her brakes and cause a fucking accident?

  • Is Mary fat? Maybe she dropped her biscuit?

    No offense to Mary's biscuit.

  • BWAHAHAHAHA!!!! Too funny! Sad because it's true, but too funny. We had a 4 car pile up on the bridge here a week ago.(they happen all the time) camera's caught the instigator, a older woman jammed on the brakes and then drove away, the ensuing accordion effect caused the accident. They're still looking for her.

  • Unless she got hit and drove away... she is not in trouble... don't think...

Couple of drone sequences from Chaweng beach in Koh Samui where we'll be heading in 71 days.

The flying is pretty incredible, how these guys don't lose thier helicopters to the power cables amazes me. Especially flying at dusk.

I ordered a couple of digital flowmeters from a "Australian" website. Their head office is in NSW. They "carry a large stock and range for immediate delivery" They go by the name futurlec. No where on their site that I can see do they say that your order will be processed and shipped from another country, so after a week of giving my CC details, they contacted me and said my order is ready to ship they just need a phone number.... so much for immediate shipping. It shipped from the US as well so now I have to wait while it gets processed through customs.... Not a biggy, I am just annoyed at the misrepresentation.

  • Bought something the same as that last year. Aussie website, next day shipping but it shipped from China and took three weeks to get here. Never said a word about that on their site either.

  • Seems to be an epidemic! I noticed on the ABC the other day (the chechkout tv program) some others had the same experience. They even had a picture of their "office" on their site but it was actually a picture of another business with their own name photoshopped over the legit name...

  • That girl scout is going to go far lol

@cunnyfunt @punkin I have ordered stuff from futurelec last year and it came from Thailand. Also the relay output module and the microprocessor board I ordered didn't work, I had to fix both of them and they offered no support and abused me that I had blown them up. If you want a good development system try mikroelectronica.

  • Makes me feel good on the inside they have my Cc number

  • You really are a cunnyfunt. :-bd

@Prairiepiss said: Unless you tell that electrician what to check. I wouldn't go by what he says. No offence to any electricians here. But every one of them I know. Doesn't event carry a VOM. I had to show two of them how to use one. We are talking licensed electricians. One has been doing it for 40 years. I was dumb founded when he didn't know how to use a VOM proper. He said all they use is a thumper. To check that they have voltage. They don't even care what the voltage is. Just that it has volts. But they generally don't troubleshoot things like this. They just run wires and hook them up. If they don't get voltage. It's a circuit breaker, switch, wire, or plug.

green to green, blue to .....how hard is it?! And they are the messiest sobiches on the jobsite. They just leave all their rubbish, wires and half eaten lunch where ever they fall for the poor carpet layer to pick up. They don't even own a broom.. Never ever liked an electrician. (racist?) All the kids want to be electricians these days. Don't they know it is one of the lowest paying trades you can do? :(|)

They are all special.. Just ask em :)

  • edited March 2014

Its just tradie banter btw. Just because I have never seen one doesn't mean there are some decent electricians out there that own a broom.

  • Used to pay pretty good here.

They are just as messy as the plumbers too. Plumb, level and square is meaningless to so many of em.

  • The guys that specialise in telemetry or industrial etc do alright, as do the guys who contract to the power companies.

  • I suppose so but these guys are highly motivated and smarter than your average sparky. I cant see there being too many like that around. :) Tilers earn good money. I know a few tilers that will average $1000 per day and they will whine like a stuck pig if they dont

  • Had security bars added to the warehouse doors and windows. The crew left a big mess and I'm told, "That's just the way it is". So I clean it up.
Had painting done on a few walls in the apartment. The painter managed to slop paint everywhere. Again, "That's just the way it is". So I clean it up.

I leave a dirty dish in the sink and all hell breaks loose.
And that my friends is just the way it is. So I clean it up.

  • Poor electricians, we get picked on all the time. I admit a lot of these electrical things you'll talk about go straight over my head some times. @olddog said it in another thread. Electricians aren't electronic techs.

I wish I could make $1000 a day. That only happens on weekends lol
