I did not see a Dash at New Deal, but that doesn't mean it's not there. We kinda ambushed them after our visit to Rolling River (only a couple of blocks between the two distilleries). We just got to briefly visit. No official tour. They were gracious, but very busy. The open fermenters smelled incredible.
This wood-burning stove radiates heat like the sun. It is in the distillery bar at McMenamins Edgefield. We spent a lot of time warming up, drinking spirits, and talking story around it. My favorite bar of many at Edgefield. I do loves me a good warm wood fire!
Priceless and stunning wood burning stove. I have 3 of them, 1 x Jotul and 2 x Morso. Once you have used them, you will never ever go back to an open fireplace.
My mum had a big old pot belly wood stove when we were kids. She would keep a pot of irish stew on it half the time. Nothing like a stew that has been slow cooking for 5 hours.
No more flanges. All my pumps are speced with Victaulic couplings now. They never leak. That photo is of a flange I removed four years ago. I came across it will rummaging through my junk parts pile, and though you guys would like to see what chloride termites will do to 316.
Kapea, is it daffodil season for you too right now (it sure is for us)? I kinda figure Gilligan's would be so different that maybe October would be daffodil season.
Summer heat is coming, have finished all the runs for the season - so the Mrs. and I packed some Aquavit and took a little road trip to north Arizona...

Soon.
Does being back-lit make it hard to see the important details? Or do you only distill at night? B-)

316 and chloride don't mix:

Is this where 316L is actually better than 316, or do you have to go to a more exotic alloy?

We have some daffodils here, but you have to go up above 6,000 ft. for it to be cool enough for them. They need hard freezes to thrive.
The daffodils above were in Oregon the last week of March. As were these, and the pear trees that were starting to pop:
