From the frozen brown Nor'Eastern Texas Plain...Ice Storm shots - Really unusual for December here.. Guess the farmers almanac is right about this coming winter...
My pasture goes back to that open field in the far background. The trees around the crawfish pond are all bent over like a management trainee at his induction meeting...
Note what appears to be an iced over "bush" just above the white roof of the lean-to for the sheep pen. That is actually a willow tree that stood about 30 feet high. The entire top of the tree has snapped off.
@applepie when I first saw it I thought the exact same thig..Whoa what in the ...F... What t... .... qucik get a stick, or even better a gun... but all the hoopla was quickly over after properly identifying it as a harmless, and beneficial friend. I forgot how quick I can be at backpeddaling!! =))
He would have starved, unless he likes to eat spent garins...I think he was looking for a place to get out of the cold blast we got last night. Cold, Ha!! not so got down to 45 but that is cold to us and mild to everyone elase.
Yep poisonous snake = dead. Rat snake = leave him be. They really are a fascinating snake type. I encountered one in the everglades that was easily 20 feet long. That was a black rat snake though. I thought it might be one of the escaped python's until I got up close to it.
