  • Google Search Comments

I'm not a fan of Google, which is why I didn't go that way. Google does extensive user tracking, which is not something you would want when visiting our site for several reasons (especially when logged in at Google, then your anonymity is gone completely!).

Our forum's search engine is simple. Either enter a word, more than one word (separated by space) or a phrase with quotation marks, and you should be able to find what you are looking for.

Your example from another discussion: Try "performance from around the world" (including the quotation marks!) to see a proper find in action.

During my daily forum check I especially take care that all relevant discussions are fitted with the proper tags.

Doing a tag search either by clicking one of the tags in the Popular Tags box in the column to the right or by entering the tag directly as URL parameter gives you good results as well. Try >>> THIS <<< to get a definite search result for your example above as an alternative to entering the whole phrase into the search box.

To help people search our forum you can also mention a hashtag as known from Twitter. Simply enter the hashtag followed by the search term, like # performance, in a comment and have a look at the results (the single word performance is used quite often, which is why it needs till page 3 to find the target of your example from above).

The built in search function can do, although I have to admit that a proper advanced interface is missing.

I don't want to give up on the internal search function, because it's tied to the core and manages the tags as well, and it does not make much sense to have two different search boxes in place, but if our members really should have problems searching our site, I could look into adding a customized DuckDuckGo search box (pretty much the same as Google but without the user tracking).

  • Still Size vs Boiler Size vs Power vs Output

I'm confused why some forum members seem to have troubles using our forum's built in search function.

If you enter "performance from around the world" (including the quotation marks!) into our search box at the top right below our forum logo, you get the exact find.

Another option is to search by tag. If you click >>> HERE <<< you get the exact find (mind how the link looks like).

And even if you only enter #performance (a hashtag mention like this is like a search for the word behind the hashtag) you will eventually find that discussion on page 3.

The built in search function can do, only an advanced interface is missing.

  • Still Size vs Boiler Size vs Power vs Output

I got unlazy Fadge and figured out how to create a proper search engine so google will search this site properly.

First hit when i punched in the title was the one i was looking for Yippee!!

Not that there was one iota of information volunteered. X_X

  • Stilldragon Performance From Around The World.

I am posting this thread in the hopes users will post up their performance figures so people can look and see how others run their equipment and to set some kind of parameters as to the capabilities of the gear.

I'd like to see posts where people describe their setup, number of plates, reflux condensor size, packing if any etc and then go on to describe their settings and output.

For instance, i know with two 2" long product condensors on an SD pot striping can take place using up to 10,800 watts and producing 21 litres an hour.

    So if someone was going to post it may be along the lines of;

Dash 1 standard configuration, one 3600 watt element on full and one 2400 watt element on a controller turned down to 1/4 power. Hearts at 94% at 2.8l per hour from a 10% UJSM wash.
