@needmorstuff, oh I don't think there is anything appreciable to be gained with batch distillation.
I was merely commenting that an LM styled product collection on a plated column would work.
Modifying a 4" tee would be cheaper no? Land the center of a take off / draw port right at the very top of the bubble cap elevation and put a trap on the draw.
Trouble is I have zero modding skills. If I can buy it at a reasonable price then that's my preferred option.
Graham condensor a must I think or cross flow - when you say crossflow - it that the Thors Hammer type arrangement?
I think it is, if so that would be perfect with my limited ceiling height.
I'm still not decided though, am I trying to solve a problem with LM that doesn't even exist? heck I'm not even in the building yet and the water supply might be fed from a 100,000 litre tank somewhere with zero chance of having supply/pressure/flow issues.
I do think the perceived precision of LM is enticing though.
Hi fellows, the 16 plate Crystal Dragon is still going strong even after 8 years???
I also ran something similar to what is being discussed, back then I called it the Dash Frac which enabled me to collect from any of 6 plates
by placing a collection cup under each plate and out of the side of the bubble T sections. I'll look around and see what I find in my notes .
One mod I did was the return to boiler, instead of returning below the fluid level at the boiler, I placed a pee trap by using a section of platinum cured silicone tube, which kept the vapor from pushing up the drain/collection manifold. Will look for an image.

Cross flow meaning that LM collects product as a liquid.
Therefore the HX is oriented horizontally rather than vertically in order to give the distillate enough dwell time in the HX to adequately cool.

An experiment with CM/LM and a DASH-2
Simply, wow!
