All,
Here's my new grain mill:
All assembled and ready for business. ..just as soon as i can get an electrician to connect it up for me! 9" diameter rollers powered by a 415v 5.5kW motor with built in transfer auger.
I still need to connect the discharge chute.
The manual says it will do 4T/h of barley which is a lot faster than I can shovel it! Might need a few helpers around to test it out ;)
Cheers,
Mech.

You need to buy a front end loader now.
Damn nice mill you got there.
A 7.5 hp motor?! What are you going to grind, asphalt?
I'm more like I am now than I was before.
Beautiful, i spent over an hour in the shed yesterday grinding 40kg of malt.

Awesome.
Is the shoot going straight into your tun or will you also use an auger system so that you can manage the dust better?

The chute goes directly to the tun. Once installed I"ll post of pic of the setup. The tun is a customised wine tank to get me through until I can get something larger.
You can use something as simple as sprayers to keep the dust down. If you want to be fancy, call it a grist hydrator.
All things considered, I'd say you done real good @punkin :D

I really love the integral auger.
I've been keeping an eye out for a short flex auger but being in the NYC metro area, they aren't all that common in these parts.
Also, our city and fire are really against milling. We actually have a big flour manufacturer/distributor in town, and they've had dust explosions, as well as an issue where they've been coating an entire neighborhood in flour dust. Fire was actually more concerned with milling than vapor if you can believe that.
Here's some pretty neat stuff on in-mash milling...

there is a brewery here which mixes the output of the mill with the hot liquor right out of the mill & pumps it to the mash tun.
all breweries I know mill in a separate enclosed room to try and contain dust.
Got the grain mill all wired up ready for a maiden run on the weekend:
Still to come is a 1500L grain hopper that feeds the mill, I'll update the thread once it's all in place.
