Packed Section

So I decided to get a packed section to go atop my plates. I'm curious on peoples opinion if the mesh in the photo looks a bit tightly wound, I have read that it shouldn't be to tightly packed but have never used a packed section before so don't really know where to begin.

Appreciate any advice

When it's in the tube can you still blow through it? if you can its OK

That’s about how mine looks. Haven’t had any issues so far

I use mine under my copper helmet as a cleaner/catching impurities but its a lot lighter packed than that.
