    If you looks at the scotch distilleries, there's tons of variations on head shape and angle of the lyne arm to create different flavor profiles.

    RC/deph helps you on plates. Head shapes IMO is mainly for pot-stilling

  • There was a gin connection there somewhere too.
    Cheap stills being repurposed in Scotland after Londons gin craz died off. Then tradition took over.
    The bulb was for stuffing botanicals.

  • you can get really whacked like Glenfiddich and have two shapes and use them in pairs and mix them...
