  • I wonder how the display works?
I've got two of these waiting to be installed.

Same flow ranges, same 3 speed operation, similar to the Taco 00r 3 speed.

Alpha has a permanent magnet motor, so it is more efficient, and has the fancy controller with display.

From an operational perspective, they'll all work exactly the same, in the same ranges. The Alpha can do constant pressure modes too, which might be interesting to someone.

  • That's what I would use if I had it.

  • I suggest a hookup from domestic (city) water to the condenser with a normally open solenoid valve (and to ensure that you have the manual valve on that feeds it 'on', install a pressure switch on the city side of the sol. Valve ) something triggers shutdown, and city water cools it... may overflow your cooling tank, but who cares...

  • Tank overflow should feed into a tun dish and be piped to drain anyway.
Not a bad idea as a backup but you could just move the fill line for the balance tank to up stream of the still. You just don't want the low level sensor going off halfway through a run. Some smarts could fix that maybe a low low sensor.
