Back in the 60s my dad and I used to go to Gatorland. An old Florida style roadside attraction about halfway between Orlando and Kissimmee. Gatorland had a big snake pit surrounded by a wall. We would spend hours watching snakes eat other snakes. It was a continuous show. Sometimes several at once.
Gatorland is on Hwy 17-92, 441 aka Orange Blossom Trail. Gatorland and the trail predate I-4 by several decades.
I did see Ross Allen milk snakes at Silver Springs back in the day. My favorite was Six Gun Territory right up the street from Silver Sorings in Ocala.
I used to catch snakes and sell them to Reptile World Serpentarium in St. Cloud for beer money back in the day. My work took me out in the woods a lot. I kept a snake pole (a hoe with the blade removed from the hook) and pillow case in the tool box of my pickup truck. I didn't mess with water moccosins though. Those suckers are extra mean and their bites are extra nasty.

But you have to admit it's a great combination of athletics and balls, even if only for a little while.

I remember it well. On Interstate 4. Did you ever go to Silver Springs and see Ross Allen's rattlesnake show?
