Max. Element Wattage for DIY Controller?

Hi, I was wondering if 5500watts is max for the DIY Controller and if not, what is it's nominal operating wattage. Thanks, jetkrazee

  • It's a 40A relay - so that determines your max. Amps = Watts/Volts and you must be running a 220v circuit to get that wattage - so 5500/220 is only drawing 25A. I think max you are supposed to go to is 80% of rated capacity which would be 32A x 220V ~ 7000 watts. But your breaker and wiring would need to support that as well.

The circuit is designed for 5500 watts maximum. We don't recommend operating over that level.
