Does anybody use this for mashing?
I use the liquid stuff and seems to work pretty well. I find I need a little more than the directions on the bottle though.
@unsub, deltagen supply Deltazyme HT for high temp cooking & Deltazyme AMG (regular 65c analyse). Mike Watson is your man ;-) www.deltagen.com.au

I use it from malted grains.. the bottled stuff, nope never used it.
What about the powdered stuff? Thanks for the reply
You might want to give these a try. They work really well.
EnzyMash Enzymes for Mashing
+1 on the EnzyMash.
Depending on where you live you might not be able to get the EnzyMash Enzymes. If you are in Australia you can get the liquid stuff online from Trusted Health Supplies. It's not the high temp stuff though.
Thanks I did not know the difference
I checked out the EnzyMash website and a 4 oz mashing kit that retails for $15.00 carries a ridiculous shipping and handling charge UPS ground to Oklahoma of $19.72 totaling $34.72.
No thank you Enzymash ! :-(
Can you find them cheaper with shipping somewhere else? Not trying to be confrontational but i too cringe at the shipping price every time i order some.
Please be aware, that shipping is not for free, even if offered by the vendor quite some costs are involved. Especially on low value sales it would mean more effort than profit if not charging for packaging, handling and the actual shipping costs.
It just came to mind, that the European Parliament is now putting an and to the free return requirement on mailorder sales, as shippings costs are indeed killing especially medium to small vendors and startups.
If I wanted to order a $15 item online I would not be surprised by the mentioned amount for shipping, the general opinion on shipping costs in the the US may differ though (I'd say the large "we ship for free" companies like Amazon are to blame).

(off topic) at work here in aus, our minimum charge for shipping is $25.
Welcome to Australia where the box packer get paid over $70k per year and has his own company car...

I'll take that job.
Personally i hate paying and charging for shipping. Seeing i'm not in the truck driving business i charge my actual shipping cost to the customer. Packing and handling i wear myself as part of the service. Usually dumpster diving for bubblewrap and pinching boxes from Bunnings, i get free newspaper from a mate who works at a local newsagents and recycle it.
Shipping is just expensive is all and the only way to beat it is to make bigger orders so it spreads the cost out further.

Shipping is cheaper than gas
Never used it but got a question. The site suggests that you use the high temp stuff at 190 and then the low temp stuff also at around 150. It looks like it suggests using both in 1 mash. Is that correct or not.
Yes. Pint posted a video that was a beauty yesterday (Mashing 100% corn on an open flame @ AD).

good video, so it looks like you do have to use both high and low enzymes in both.
Yes mate, alpha converts the starch to long chain sugars and gluco chops the long chains to simple sugars that yeast can utilise.

The link to the thread where it's posted is in my post. PintOShine is the owner of the forum Artisan Distiller and the owner of the company Artisan Resources that supply the enzymes. (Enzymash in one of the posts above)
As to more you'll have to post to the thread on Artisan and ask him about that.
