ProCap Downcomer Extension
Considering purchasing downcomer extensions for my ProCaps but I need a reason why.
What should I expect from raising the level of distillate at each plate?
I understand that the contact time between the vapor and liquid will increase however that time is tiny and seems insignificant.
Does is make a difference and if so what is the nature of that difference?
Each plate becomes a little more efficient?

how tall are your current ProCaps... 13mm or so tall above the plate benefit from extensions, the 19mm or so ones do not...
The added liquid level can allow for a bit more abv under certain conditions. Notwithstanding bad hydraulic behavior,shifting as much alcohol as possible onto your plates can assist with maintaining a higher abv.
