Is there such a piece of gear as a bain-marie mash tun? I am thinking of the possibilities of using unmalted grain and getting a tank made that is a basic, and small, mash tun but is heated in a bain-marie format. I know gas is cheaper but I am going 100% electric.
Cheers,
Matt

Yes . We sell them all the time. I'm traveling now and not sure I have an example stashed in my phone?
What size are you thinking?

I was thinking of 500l more or less. Still havent figured it out
Sure.
Super easy. Though on a per liter basis the 1000L is a better value.

EDIT:
Oh shoot that's a steam rig. Sorry.

PDF from my cache back from 2014:
@CothermanDistilling, gosh we haven't done em with an open top in a while. The closed domes do a better job on corn with respect to achieving temps more rapidly and holding.
That open top does a nice job with malted grains however.

nice! when you get the new drawing, copy me, although your other cooker looks interesting too... I need to be able cook corn and rye in the near future..
Here is one version.

Your still works fine for cooking corn/rye (assuming you got your bigger paddles). Put the paddle motor on a VFD too so you can ramp the speed (and adjust the carrier freq!).
