I have been cleaning my column and plates with a march pump and recirculating pbw and then star san. Then follow up with a water rinse. I hook up to the drain then pump through the condenser ect back to the boil kettle. It works OK but i would like to copper to have a little more beauty lol
Thoughts or methods?
I don't want to tear it down every time to clean.

Skip the Starsan, add Citric Acid.
You don't need starsan, the column is sterilised by hot ethanol every time you use it. Most people use a citric acid solution followed by a good rinse.

I thought star san was citric untill i just read the label . Lol
What dose for citric per gal water ?
Maybe start with a 4 to 1 and adjust according to your desired level of virgin shine.

Thanks ! Just ordered some .
Just mix it into a 5-10% solution. Use, store and reuse.
Be sure to get it all rinsed off, with either plenty of water or a base solution then water.

5% is ~5g in 100ml of total solution, 50g/L, ~200g/gal

I use to use a 1% solution and it worked for me.
It worked well for me . Didnt make it shine but it wasnt polished to start with lol .
Funny thing after i cleaned it i charged the boiler for a run but didnt get to it for a couple days . When i went to run it the inside of the colum turned blackish . Must of been from sitting with the boiler charged?
