I was thinking about efficiency by insulation here. The top chamber conductively heats the dephlegmator via the triclamp (you can feel it). Would a carbon fiber or other composite triclamp be possible to obtain and try out? Anyone ever seen one?

I think this would be a great engineering feat and good item to have.....JMHO
Without needing to invent a special clamp there is an off-the-shelf solution. It is not cheap and it takes some wrangling to get into place properly.
It's call a high pressure triclamp pipeline clamp.
About a year ago I bought a single 8" size and danged if I can remember the price. Just remember it was a task to use and the most expensive clamp I've ever paid for.
But surely more reasonable in 4" size.
As you can see with this clamp, and gasket between the sections, there is no metal to metal contact.
eh.... I want easy... Just think how cool a carbon fiber/kevlar one would look!
