[USA/NC] Sale: 2000L Electric Figgins Reciprocating Still

Hi all. What we have here is a "Figgins Reciprocating Still", a 2000 Liter system capable of making 0.5 L of 160 proof Alcohol per minute. A lot of modifications were made from the original state, including some with the designer, Berle "Rusty" Figgins, himself. We added custom Stainless Steel heating elements. We also added mixers to keep the wort moving during heating up. Two extra plates were added to the column to make 190 proof for Vodka. The control panel is an excellent piece of hardware and essential for an electrical still like this. The still operates on 208v 3 phase. You'll need at least a 150 Amp supply. If you only have 100 amps ( like I did in the old days ) you can operate the still on one kettle. We have won two awards for the Single Malt make in this still. One from ACSA and one from SIS. Its an excellent still and a decent size to get your DSP and distillery going. If you don't know what a DSP is...please check out the federal regulations and permits you will need to operate this still. You get all you see in the pictures. All you will need to work this still is the power / water / and air for the mixers ( if your mash has suspended grain in it ). If your'e a rum man...you probably wont need the mixers. We've switched to a steam powered still from Kothe, and need the space for a bottling machine.

Priced at $35,000 for everything you see in the pictures...

Watlow PC based controller - wow. Very nice work on that panel, it's one of the best I've ever seen. That's a top-of-the-line electronics package, Watlow Power Series PC SCR controllers are unmatched. Very safe units, can monitor current, monitor for short circuits, and protect the heaters. I'm sure that panel alone is worth a few thousand dollars, and new I'm sure cost a pretty penny.

    Nice rig.

  • Thanks for the input @grim! The Watlow is a great unit, allowing us to run the elements at whatever % of power we needed, nice and strong on the heat up, low and slow for collection, all at the touch of a button. The guys at PSI did a stellar job!
