How do you clean your bottles and caps?
I have some pretty bottles (souvenir from Florida) with cork caps and they still smell of what was inside before: salted caramel whisky. I do like the smell, but I don't want it in my new distilled products. How do I get rid of it? I tried the dishwasher, rinsing with foreshots, washing soda, nothing helped.

Hot PBW or any of the soduium percarbonate products (unperfumed) for the inside of bottles. Eucalyptus oil for the ouside to get glue off after a hot PBW soak to get the labels off.
You may find you need new corks (look for T caps) as the scent can penetrate.

I thought so. I think I will either toss the caps or make salted caramel whisky. :bz
