Hi all, I'm briefly in Houston to visit my family and if anyone is close enough to get the chance for a get-together then let's do it.
I'm being shuffled between my kids while I'm here and if any of you can arrange a visit I'd love to meet with you.
@FullySilenced will meet up soon, any other takers?
I leave Houston the first of September and I know the time is short. The downside is my internet access will be spotty as the girls don't have service other than their smart phones. My son bought a toss-away phone for me with limited minutes so you can contact me at 832 499 9248 if you don't get long winded. My gmail is fester at stilldragon dot com in case I have access.
Lloyd

It is more difficult to adjust to the new time than ever before. Just cannot seem to sleep at night and groggy (zombie) during the day.
At 3 PM local time today the body shutdown without warning - nodded off during a conversation for 3 hours of forced downtime and it must have been a very deep slumber because at 3 AM (again local time, the exact opposite of body clock time) its not possible to go to sleep.
Daughter drives for an hour for our reunion and 2 hours later she finds herself talking to a mass of snoring flesh.
It usually takes 3 to 5 days to adjust. That's little comfort when drool is probably coming from the corner of your mouth when your kid is excited to be with you.
More coffee.

You have got that time shift to look forward to when you get back again
Going West never was that bad to me, but East is a killer.
Thats where working nights here in the US came in handy when I went to Japan. It was just normal for me to be up on their daytime but my wife had a hard time adjusting
Same issue when I went to Malaysia for two weeks, then India for 4 .... My time in Kuala Lumpur was zombie, but by the time I hit Bengaluru I was better... took me almost 3 weeks when I returned stateside....
Hope you are enjoyin' yer time here, Lloyd.. I'm about a 7 hour drive from ya, or I'd stop by an say hey and share a sip or three...
Travel safe!

Thanks guys, after a few days of inadequate sleep, finally got a full nights sleep last night.
Hoping the zombie is beaten back but won't know until the eyes are exposed to full daylight.
Having fun though... family, favorite foods and shopping for clothes to take back.
Don't forget those undies... :D

Take care of family, FS. If we can't get together I'll hand off the baby dragon to Larry to post to you.
Got a nice collection of drawers, shirts, pants and shoes to take back. What I wore to here is only fit for the dumpster, certainly not worth taking back. Its kind of sad that in China I have to shop at the Big Fat People's stores and everything is still too small.
Feels a little strange to see tags on my clothes now as my shirts and pants have all been tailor made these last few years.
I'm just too old to change from boxer shorts to what looks like a speedo so my choices in China are limited. It just doesn't seem right somehow.
(Embedded Southern Baptist upbringing keeping me from walking on the wild side.)
Hopefully Lloyd is in Florida getting some beach time...
Last of the relatives left on friggin Monday... was ready for them to exit...
I regret not being able to visit with Lloyd in Houston but .. life and death happens... i believe there will be another time...

So that guy in the white t-shirt must be Ari, right? And you gave your daughter away into marriage to him? I'd suggest Ari starts a low-carb diet, more pork, less rice. 8-}

Back at my work station now with sleepy eyes after the long flight back home.
Tan and I stayed last night in Shanghai because I arrived too late to trek back to my city and it feels good to be back home.
So many little odds and ends to attend to from being away for 2 weeks and I see new products gracing the work table that have arrived and need my attention.
Bird refused to stop talking because he was so excited to see me. Tan did not beat me because I remembered to bring her some gifts. Its nice to be missed.
