I even knew it was going to happen and I am sure that I responded in the same way...........I'm spoiling for Daenerys to send them dragons out for some target/recon practice
I haven't read the books, so I didn't know what was going to happen, and it was indeed a very intense experience. Reading about it afterwards on the net revealed that the visual was way more severe than what was described in the book, something which not often happens that a screenplay tops the work it was based on.

My daughter has read the books so I constantly pepper her to fill me in on details not included on screen. I squeezed the Red Wedding out of her about two weeks ago. Thankfully my impatient questions did not really spoil the scope of the scene........was pretty intense indeed.

It's just somehow wrong to kill off the main characters, except Joffery the sadistic inbred. That would be OK.
The Red Wedding took me by surprise. Shocking.
