Interestingly most forum members don't even seem to know that we have our own Twitter-style news feed called Activity.

Our Activity is only visible to logged in forum members, and shows announcements of newly registered forum members by default. Formating and message length is limited there, because it's intended for short messages comparable to SMS texts or Tweets only.

You can either post to our Activity directly by using the text entry field at the top of the Activity page, or you can use the Activity text entry box on a forum member's profile page (which by the way is not for sending a PM; to send a PM please use the Message button at the top of a member's profile page), which then shows a public message to that member on that member's profile page and in our Activity.

I sometimes post some hint to our Activity if I see member struggling with using our forum's special features.
