  • Gotta choose between Hendricks, Tanqueray No. 10, Monkey 47, and Kapea's 23...

Fuck it. Tomorrow's Sunday. A shot of each!

Snap! 23 is the exact number of botanicals that went into my last gin. Anything interesting going into yours?

  • Juniper, coriander, angelica, licorice, fresh tangerine peel, orris, cassia.

23 is the gin batch number through Joelle, my gin basket.

One of my customers sent me a bottle of their Wattleseed Gin. If you see a product from Ironbark Distillery snatch it up, cause this is some excellent gin. Well worth seeking out.

  • My first taste of Mt Gay last night was their Black Barrel edition. At less than $50 a bottle it's a very cheap offering for the quality. I was very impressed.

    Aged in bourbon barrels apparenty.

  • I know. I was just messin with ya.

Living in the middle of the Pacific Ocean I am painfully aware of what we refer to as the "Paradise Tax." That is the cost of freight to get stuff here. I find a good deal on a thing for $100. Then it costs another $100 to get it shipped here.

    Speaks loudly to buying local.

  • Milk costs 8 bucks a gallon but you can get a pineapple for a dollar

  • edited August 2016

    Milk is local. $2.99/gal.

Pineapples are free. Damn things grow like weeds around here

  • Yes the actual excise on that bottle of spirit is like $25 before we start paying for the bottle.

History recalls how great the fall can be
While everybody's sleeping, the boats put out to sea
Borne on the wings of time
It seemed the answers were so easy to find

    Goodbye stranger,
    It's been nice.
    Hope you find your paradise.
Tried to see your point of view.
Hope your dreams will all come true.
