I got a new XT250 a couple of months ago, i have never really ridden a trail bike before so it's a steep learning curve for me. Getting a little old to be hitting the ground that hard.
The good thing is that the state forest is about 3km's from my place, so it's just ride up the road and you're in the bush on fire trails with your mates.
The other new toy is a 1098 Ducati. It's 10 years old but still pants wettingly scary.
I have only had it a few months and don't get much chance to ride it (truth be told i have to be feeling my best on the day to get on it).
I'm sort of outgrowing the Yamaha already. Starting to look around at something with a little more capability. Someone has recommended the KTM 350 to me.
I like Yamaha. I've been riding my YZ450F since 2005. My son loves it, but it was too much bike for him. So in 2015 I bought him the XT250 for his 15th birthday. Both were bought new. Both bikes kick ass in the high elevation volcanic landscape where we ride. Both have thousands of hours of run time on them and have been bullet proof.
Yes i'm also brand loyal to Yamaha, used to ride an XS1100 for years and years. My boat motor was a Yamaha and even my amplifier has given me great service for decades.
The XT is a very capable little bike, but i feel i'm reaching for more power at times and i feel like the handling could be improved on a more dirt oriented machine with more suitable tires and suspension.
I am too scared of the WR's and i do want a 4 stroke.
I have a Yamaha 2400W inverter generator that I converted to a propane-burner with a motor-snorkel. I love that generator. Small, light, quiet, and super dependable. Can't be beat for remote power generation.

The Yamaha one runs like a bat outta help on cinder cones above the tree line on the slopes of dormant volcanoes.
I'm more like I am now than I was before.
Might need to get away in a hurry. b-(

I have met a few guys on mining construction projects that sounded like the google gnome. That was funny.

Looks like a widow maker to me. Mrs Punkins second husband could have a great time with your money. But I hope you dont kill yourself on it mate.
To ride it properly you would, this one has big chicken stripes down both sides of the tires.

You don't have to ride it like a Wildman do you?

Just make sure you keep everything shiny side up.
88 down and 800 to go. Emptied 3 barrels of rum after 13 months on used bourbon casks. Also making gin, and stripping whey for neutral. Busy day.
Daayum! You been busy! Nice looking product.

Thanks. It's a 75% turbinado 25% molasses blend in 13 mon in used bourbon casks.
Looks stunning.
Turbinado ?? Brown sugar ferment ??
More specifically it's an "A strike" crystal. Basically the first pass through the centrifuge. Does have a deeper amber/ brownish color.
