There is a young guy that lives down the road from me who thinks he is too fast and too furious. He has a 4-banger shitbox that he grinds gears (missed speed-shifts) and revs the engine over and over again between sunset and midnight when his parents are off-island. It has a hole in the muffler, so he thinks it sounds badsass. Annoying, but somewhat amusing. I have a tractor that could beat him in the quarter-mile.
I was going to put the forks under the drivers door 8" up and the back board against the door, but hopefully she's smart enough to get the message as it is....
Was late for an appointment once and someone had blocked me in. They parked in the center of an aisle, at the dead-end, thinking that the last spots could make it out, not so.
They left their car unlocked. I put it in neutral and pushed it into the grass. No damage, no harm, but funny as hell. Wish I had stayed around to see their face.
Yes i see that all the time Larry. It's like people walk around (and drive around) with their head up their arse.
Waiting in the express checkout with my bread and milk while some asshole unloads half a trolley worth of stuff and stands there watching the cashier scan it all through and try and fit all the bags on the little counter. Then the girl will say 'That'll be $109.50'.
That's when the asshole will get her purse out of her handbag and start rummaging through for the rewards card and the credit card.
Like they didn't know they'd have to pay.....
My favorite is when they walk into a building (like a department store) and stand in the doorway while trying to decide if they should go right,,,go left,,, go straight,,,etc. All the while blocking everyone else's ability to even get into the damn building.
Or meet someone they know and stand chatting, trolleys across the aisle. Looking affronted when you push through.
I think of others as much as i can, to the point of not queuing up at the barbers Saturdays and taking a spot from someone who can only do Saturday mornings and works the rest of the week. I can get a haircut any day.
I prefer to spend less and less time in the public space as I grow older. Society has become so much more callous and coarse in my lifetime. Courtesy has become the exception, instead of the norm.
Work is on in earnest now, the welder is working on the center module. The frame is all done in 90 x 90 RHS and he's welding the offcuts from the container walls into the roof and sides of it today. Should be ready to bolt in tomorrow or the next day. Then we just have to cut the second container, install the door and window frames and move it in.
Lots of whales here in the winter, when we used to fish off this coast regularly years ago they would scare the shit out of you on a flat calm day coming out of the water just yards away.

Most people live in a 5 x 5 space. Never really giving a shit about what affects others outside of their 5 x 5.

It is like swimming with a submarine. Damn things (humpback whales) are HUGE. Scary as hell sometimes when they swim up out of the deep dark blue...
