"Junk man came by and gifted most of this to me" ain't going to work.
"Honey, you know how you always wanted me to have a winery...", forget that too.
"Look, I paid $1,000 for $5,000 worth of stuff so here is $1,000 $500 $250 for you to blow", maybe!

There is a member on the South Aussie home brew forum who haas 2 x 225l barrique barrels for sale for a very reasonable price. He is in Mt Barker if anyone is interested i can pass a message along to him, just PM me your email.
An update to this, he also has 2 x 100l barrels and said he would make a deal on price if someone wanted to take the lot. Could be a very good deal for someone in SA.
I have 2 of these available. $100 each. they held Malbec pressings (red wine) until July and have been monthly dry sulphured (sulphur candles) until now.
I also have 2 barriques (225L) these held Cabernet pressings until July and have also been monthly sulphured.
$120 each
Agreed, the working end of a stock pot is the bottom and for that size 2mm is not enough. They didn't mention a thickened bottom so it probably doesn't have one.
My personal 25L liter stock pot has about 2mm wall but the bottom is almost 1/2 of the total weight at about 6mm, kind of hard to get a measurement but its nice and beefy. After almost 4 years of use the bottom is as flat as the day it was bought new. Never once scorched but its almost never seen gas heat, usually used with an induction heater.
Still, if the 82L is never directly fired it might well serve the purpose.

Yeah its got some electrical leads and temp controllers in it atm. I should say they refunded most of the money. You can flex the base easily with your thumb.
Even without the controller it's still over 4600 bucks worth new, plus all those pro caps and extra stuff thrown in. It is pretty good value, looks new.
Aahh sorry, i have my customers confused. I know who it belongs to and why the sale. Genuine reason sometimes it's the handles confuse me with the names and locations.

Nah dude. Bought one of those, 2kg my 50litre brew pot weighs 12kg. Shite.

Didn't really think that it was that great of a deal until I saw the control panel. Somebody will jump all over this.
Even without the controller it's still over 4600 bucks worth new, plus all those pro caps and extra stuff thrown in. It is pretty good value, looks new.
It's terrific value. You have to realize the exchange rate tween the US and Australia is .75 cents atm.
That is one fantastic bargain for a complete top of the range system with nothing to buy.
I have a customer looking at a tank that may be interested, i'll send him a link.
Best of luck with it mickiboi, i hope you have a quick turnaround and the upgrade goes all to plan.

Anyone looking for a whopping great barrel? LARGE OAK WINE BARRELS @ Gumtree
I want a barrel, but they look a bit rough, plus it may just take me a while to produce enough to fill it up !
Lets see, I average 1 run a month, collect 25 lt @ 80 % ..... how long to fill 2750lt @ 40% ??
I'm 52 already, so when do I stop ?
fadge
Stop when the barrel is full....
