Hey guys, recently bought two thirty litre kegs for cheap ( thirty bucks for the two) with the prospect of long term whisky aging down the side of the house in mind! After an hour with a crow bar and a set of stilsons, I got the ball valves out and was going to try bumble up some kind of way to close them off , when I stumbled upon the fact that a StillDragon 2 inch tri clover clamp and blank fits perfect! I don't know if this is common knowledge and I'm the only one that didn't know or what, but thought I'd share it if anyone didn't know! I had some French oak barrel staves laying about, so I turned up a blank and Roberts your mothers brother! Biggest mash ever two weeks ago- running 350l of apple smoked / toffee barley through this weekend, so the barrel should be filled and locked up with some heavy charcoalled staves inside- I'll let you know how it turns out in 2025
