Wish i had the skills to load all these into a MP3 and make mixed tapes available for dl. I do have all the ones i have posted either on my phone or on memory sticks.
I saw King Crimson at the Alexandria Roller Rink in Alexandria, Virginia in 1972. Greg Lake had already moved on to Emerson, Lake & Palmer by that time. King Crimson opened for T-Rex.
I saw Yes at the Merriweather Post Pavillion in Columbia, MD later that same year. Rick Wakeman was playing keyboards for them then. Pretty amazing show. Lots of cross channeling between the quadraphonic speaker setup. They played for 2+ hours IIRC. Saved that ticket stub. I'll have to dig it out sometime.
One hit wonder from 1981.
The Bureau were formed from the remnants of the original Dexy's Midnight Runners. These blokes obviously knew when to get out.....Come on Eileen was released by the new Dexy's in 1982 =))
Yeah, but we hit the sweet spot between when the pill was invented and when AIDS showed up. They were glorious days to be alive.
Agree 100% on that. Plus i can remember the birth of rock and roll with stuff like Conrad Birdie right the way up till now and i can still pick the best out of the whole 60 years and get off on most of it.
The semi distorted part of the 70's just made stuff like Pink Floyd, Moody Blues -even Joe Walsh for me - even more memorable.
Plus i lived in Fiji where tourists were always on a party and Fijian girls were a real scream.
Heck boys, I didn't get into my Moody Blues collection - About 75% of DT was written to progressive music like this running in the background - Progressive sound is a positive in my "coding" habitat...well, "progressive" is a place in time in this context..
Any Strawbs or Savoy Brown Fan's out there? (yes, I'm an old Dinosaur - what do you expect from a mainframe guy who started writing code on IBM 360's thinking it was the cat's ass back when?)

Dont start. You'll get the guy with the ice cream bucket on his head and crayons in his pocket saver posting ticket stubbs from The Platters. :D

Yeah we are. Don't think these really fit the theme anyway as i can't think of an aussie radio station that would play Yes or King Crimson.

@Smaug LOL - well I don't know how old you are, I know I could hardly walk when "Reminiscing" was in the hit parades.
Then again, I luvvvvv many songs featured here!
Aussie radio station? How would we know what an Aussie radio station would play?
