Two Separate Stacks

This was in the context of a hobby 4" CD with a packed section above, in a height restricted environment, to get more column height for vodka. I've tried to work out how to do this, but cannot. Does anyone have an example, or picture?

But first, does anyone think it is worthwhile at the hobby level, as opposed to doing more runs with the best hybrid tower possible in the height available? Assuming, there is a best hybrid tower (No. of plates vs. length of packing) for vodka.
