OK, I just poured out all of my apple shit if that's what's going to happen....

  • BTW, I used to work in a burn ward. Never gets any easier to look at.

  • I prefer my sirloin tips just a little more done...

  • I am pulling the cinnamon sticks off my first patch.

  • We were out bush at the time, was pretty sore when i woke up the next morning and the blisters made it hard to cast a lure. in the end i packed up and drove back to town and presented at the horsepistol.

I'm stealing this. Haha I've got to make the GOD applesauce.

  • God applesauce. Sounds powerful yet forgiving of mistakes. I need to look more into this.

@FloridaCracker said: Just pulled and filtered and almost all of the alcohol is gone!

Can we have an up date on this please, was it fall in the fire material or was all the alcohol gone ?

  • To tell you the truth, I haven't had any yet. Kinda skeered. My wife's BD is tomorrow and we will probably have some then. She loves it.

On second thought, I will have to make sure there are no fires around. I've heard the combination can be painful.

  • @SBB_ once you put the sugar in and let it sit you cant use an alcohol hydrometer to measure the %. But it is still there and really easy to drink. I usually put 45% to 50% abv when i make it.

  • Damn, I've been using 65abv

If i use fresh pressed juice straight off the tree surely thats the same as cut fruit?
This is a recipe that i have found but is the Apple cider just Non alcoholic?

    Apple Pie Moonshine

    Ingredients

    • 1 750ml bottle of 190 proof Everclear – If you can’t get Everclear in your state, high proof vodka can work also.
    • About 1 cup of Captain Morgan Spiced Rum – Two cups tastes pretty good also… just saying.
    • 1 Gallon Apple Cider
    • 1 Quart Apple Juice
    • 3 Cups of Brown Sugar
    • 1 Cup of White Sugar
    • 10 Cinnamon Sticks
    • 1 Large Stock Pot
    • 6 Mason Jars (Quart-sized)

This recipe comes together very quickly. Simply combine the cinnamon sticks, apple cider, and apple juice in the large stock pot. Bring it all to a mild simmer and add in the sugars. Continue to stir slowly for about five to ten minutes until all the sugar is dissolved. At that point, turn the heat off and allow the apple cider mixture to cool down to room temperature. Allow it several hours to reach a lower temperature. If you add in the alcohol too soon, the higher temperature will evaporate some of the alcohol content.
Once the mixture is at room temperature, stir in the 1/5 of Everclear and one to two cups of rum. At that point, you are ready to jar the apple pie moonshine in the mason jars. Don’t be afraid to put a cinnamon stick in the jars either.
As the apple pie moonshine ages, the cinnamon and sugar blends out the alcohol taste to an almost undetectable level. Again…YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!
