@grim said: All it does is weigh a known volume of liquid, correct for temperature, and calculate the density.

I take grab samples in a class A volumetric flask and weight ithem on a lab balance.

The parrot and hydrometer are just there for trending (and because they look cool as shit)

    Picking nits; hydrometers measure buoyancy...

I'm more like I am now than I was before.

  • Finally got a response from STM Instruments. ... They are still in business.

So in the process of purchasing the Edrommeter at $395. I think an absolute bargain. Well we will see.

  • Not with an electric parrot :)

Bought, now awaiting delivery. Weighed it up e-parrot vs the edrommeter. Unfortunateley the edrommeter won because I can use it elsewhere in our cidery as well.

    It has the following functional capabilities;

    • Accurate...0.0015
    • Numerous Outputs
    • SG
    • Density (g/cc)
    • ºBrix
    • ºPlato
    • ºBaume
    • gm/l sugar
    • PA (Potential Alcohol)
    • % ABV
    • Proof
    • Temperature (°F and °C)
    • Temperature Compensated
    • 5-35°C (40-95°F) Operating Temperature
    • Wide SG Range... 0.7 to 1.5
  • Let us know how it goes, a vibratory u-tube device for $395 is a tremendous bargain.

    Sounds like a marital aid...
