Yuzu Liqueur

edited October 2015 in Recipes

Has anyone got a recipe for Yuzu Liqueur ??? I have a small bottle of the juice about 200ml was going to start with 600ml 40ABV Neutral add the juice and sweeten to taste then use glucose syrup to thicken if necessary aim to make around 1L total. But a recipe is always nice.

    So i decided to wing it and ended up with;

    200 mL  Yuzu juice
    500 mL  40% ABV neutral
    100 g   Raw sugar
      1 Tsp Glucose syrup

    I should have used white sugar as the caramel colour from raw sugar has altered the bright yellow colour a little. I only added enough sugar to stop the eye puckering sour so it now resembles a sour orange type flavour (sour of lemon,sweet of orange) its an interesting flavour. A few have tried it an none have disliked it, all have said its different (unusual).

    What would be the best way to dilute it to 20-25% with out washing out the flavour???

    I should have started with 25% but easier to dissolve glucose and sugar in higher ABV

    Cheers Johnboy
