I was just reading about the Mother of All Bombs. The first time they tested it was in 2003 at Eglin Air Force Base in the Florida panhandle. When it exploded it was so loud that 350 miles away, at Walt Disney World, 14 French tourists surrendered to Mickey Mouse.
I bet you would not like pence shillings and pounds and they are gladly forgotten along with ounces and pounds. Actually not much to like about imperial except inches.
I just made 8lbs of cabbage, 2-1/2tbs of salt, and 4tsp of caraway seeds into 4L of sauerkraut. (or at least it will be in 3-1/2 weeks). Mixing measurement systems makes it taste a whole shitload mo bettah!

This sums up my life in Fiji. seriously, even our pipe thread is BSP/NPT mixed!!
For the mathematically challenged guys, i just use metric linear measurements tho. try explaining dividing fractions to someone who literally just walked out of the jungle this morning.
I prefer inches/feet to centimeters, Farenhieght over Centigrade (for everything except boiling or freezing), MPH and MPG over KPH and L/100KM, KG over LBS, Liters over Gallons, HP over KW, PSI over BAR,.

When accuracy and precision count I am accurate and precise. Otherwise close enough is close enough:
cup ~ quarter liter
pint ~ half liter
quart ~ liter
inch ~ 25mm
foot ~ 30cm
yard ~ meter
klick ~ 2/3mile
250kph = haulin' ass
35C = too fucking hot
15C = too fucking cold
sheng = weird Chinese wind instrument... ;<)

I lived in Bermuda (a British colony) when they went from pounds to BMD dollars. Poor Bermudians were all corn fuzed.

@GD50 nothing wrong with ounces and pounds :)
Nor ounces, cups, pints, quarts, and gallons.

Yes one front an ounce was an idea measure in the 70's and well a pound was just excellent.
US gallon and Imperial gallon is nothing short of crazy. 3.785 litres and 4.54 litres. I rest my case.

I used 200mL of backset from my previous batch of sauerkraut to see if I can shorten that 3-1/2 week picking time.

Ditch the Sauerkraut and jump on the Kimchi train. It's good to go inside a week.
I do both. My kimchi is eyes watering hot. I like it with fresh cut pineapple from my patch. The sweet/hot combination is delicious.
Kraut goes better with my homemade bratwurst and devil's fart bread.
