1/2" BSP RTD PT100 Temperature Sensors?

Has anyone found a decent supplier of 1/2" RTD PT100 Temperature Sensor in BSP thread?...that doesn't cost the Earth?

I can find plenty and real cheap with respect to NPT thread; so much so I'm almost convinced to install NPT! X_X

The only BSP unit I could find was nearly 5 times the price of the NPT.

The world is far more complicated than it needs to be!

What's the shipping from the states? I picked up a case of 2" TC RTDs in a surplus sale. 3 wire, probe length is 4".

I've looked and managed to find a brass version but not a stainless.

yeah.. i saw those...

I'm thinking of using his metric M14 threaded ones with Telfon Cable & Detachable Connector, drill an 14mm hole and use a ptfe washer and ss nut to attach. (similar a Auber instruments metric Weldless Fitting but cheaper)

1/2" threads are ok to use npt/bsp aren't they? I know they don't screw in all the way but they go in enough to seal.

I use them and they are fine, I little thread tape and all is well

Everything in my system is 1/2" NPT and my sockets are 1/2" BSP. No issues with leaks, I do use some teflon tape.

Those detachable RTDs are what I got recently - seem to read low by ~1C The Mypin RTD/thermo TA4 units read ~2C low. No excuse for 3 wire RTD not being accurate to 0.1C.

Make sure the sensor alpha matches what the meter is set up for. You won't notice the alpha differences at 0c, but you will closer to 100c.

Also,the sensor/meter combo still requires calibration. So hopefully the meter has the ability to do at least a simple offset calibration. If you know the alphas and can set the meter appropriately, do an ice bath calibration. If you don't have the alpha data, and are using these for vapor temp duty, do a boiling point calibration.

0.1c needs fancy gear to accomplish, expensive RTDs and meters, and calibrations at least every month.

And to get sensor interchangeability with 0.1C, you'd need 1/10 DIN sensors, which would have a sticker price north of $100usd a unit.

You can get close with off-the-shelf Class A sensors, but you need a decent meter with the ability to calibrate.

I deal with them regularly in my work and yes they are around that price(what we sell at) - In my daily work I use PLCs with IO cards(3 wire RTD) that are guaranteed to 0.1C off the shelf (5 x that price).
For the price off ebay they aren't too bad.
